The young, vibrant SAILTECH team has as many sea-miles of experience between them as any in the business. This wet-backside training is combined with impressive knowledge of the sailmaker's art, plus the latest design and manufacturing technology. This is not limited to sails, but also to sail-covers, trampolines, dodgers and any other accessories from canvas or sailcloth.

Ben Kelly, director of Sailtech has been sailing since he was only 7 years old, starting in Sabots. In later school years, Ben was mentored and trained by Colin Metcher, eventually becoming a formal apprentice and working alongside Gary Martin and Scott Vennes. Ben took over the management of Horizon Sailmakers QLD only 2 years into his apprenticeship and in 2004 became the sole owner of this business. SAILTECH was formed in 2005 and has since become on of the leading sailmaking lofts in Australia
